Maintenance and development of functionalities

The 2014/15 season was marked by changes to the maintenance strategy of stadiums' security systems. The SEFP followed the guidelines set by LaLiga and grew by acquiring more resources and by operating in more fields, thus highly increasing its activity.

This season we have given assistance to over 880 UCO (Operational Control Units) and over 1,000 SCA (Access Control Servers). To those activities we must add all the preventive and corrective actions, therefore there was a huge level of involvement between LaLiga and clubs. Other activities carried out were implemented with the RFEF and clubs which are in non-professional competitions, including, lastly, the promotion playoffs.

The situation for each activity is as follows:

  • Castor Project support

This season, the development of the CASTOR project (Access Control, Security and Ticketing Focused on Results) has taken up a lot of the maintenance team’s time. We have worked with Everis to review the functional analysis and to start following-up the development. The department is giving all the necessary support and assistance to meet the deadlines. At the end of this season, tests will start on the modules delivered.

  • Communication system between clubs and LaLiga

In order to meet the needs of several strategic projects for LaLiga, as well as the maintenance of systems, a new communication environment was created. To do that, we used the existing synergies with Mediapro/Overon to reach an agreement that allows us to have a more robust system with more direct handling of the scenarios presented. This season, 39 communication lines were deployed in record time.

This new system allows LaLiga, through its internal systems department, to carry out and manage videoconferences as well as other data services. The maintenance department has made it possible to have a more robust management, with remote monitoring of the security platforms, greater capacity management, ticketing, platform backups, network management, perimeter security, etc.

  • Web service for the sale of tickets through third-party channels:

In the first third of the year, a new version was finalised. During that time, workshops were carried out with the participation of companies that provide that service to clubs, and with clubs themselves. Given the complexity of the changes that would be executed by third-party channels to meet the needs of clubs, next season production will be performed in stages. It has also been decided that the current system will no longer be supported after the end of this season.

  • Web service for the relationship with members and supporters:

This season, the department has worked to identify and increase the possibilities of this service, implemented at the beginning of the season with Real Betis. Documentation has been given to several clubs who have shown interest and it is highly likely that next season deployments will take place in several clubs.

  • Development of the new CPU for turnstiles:

The deployment of the new CPU for clubs continued. At the end of the season, most clubs of Liga BBVA and part of Liga Adelante will have the new CPU and a scanner that enables the reading of QR codes.

  • New collection process:

The development of this system has suffered several time deviations due to other services' needs. The development and first tests of this system with the current AVET will be carried out between August and October. This will allow for greater functionalities and interaction with the access control system in an efficient manner.
